Light compression
Use the lighter mode when you want to keep the document structure and avoid converting each page into an image.
Reduce PDF file size in your browser using light compression or stronger page flattening.
Strong mode flattens each page to a JPEG image to reduce size.
Note: Strong compression can remove text selection/copy because pages are converted to images. Some already optimized PDFs may not shrink much.
COMPRESS PDF ONLINE
Compress a PDF when you need a smaller file for email, web uploads or storage. Choose light compression to preserve the PDF structure or stronger compression when reducing file size is more important.
Use the lighter mode when you want to keep the document structure and avoid converting each page into an image.
Strong mode can flatten pages into compressed images. This may reduce size further but can remove selectable text.
Compression results depend on the original PDF. Always review the output when the document contains small text, diagrams or detailed images.
